Low-Power Division

Precision engineering for the American Rocketry Challenge, building rockets that hit exact altitude targets through teamwork and iterative design.

What We Do

The Low-Power sector focuses on low-power and mid-power rocketry. Students work in small teams to design rockets that meet strict mass, altitude, and deployment constraints typical of national-level competitions. Projects emphasize careful modeling and validation, including CAD, OpenRocket simulations, and repeated flight testing.

Precision Targeting

Altitude targeting and specific payload delivery constraints for ARC competition rules.

Iterative Design

Continuous CAD, OpenRocket simulation, and rapid flight testing loops to refine performance.

Team Collaboration

Small, focused teams that analyze flight data and refine recovery systems together.

ARC Competition

Competing nationally in the American Rocketry Challenge against teams across the country.

Flight Data Analysis

Post-flight review of altimeter logs and recovery system performance to guide future iterations.
